 whew! It’s finally here...the week before EAST! It all feels like it’s coming together- rather quickly I might add, but after doing a test run of hanging everything on the walls I think we are (mostly) ready. It’s so strange to see all of my work hanging together in one place. It’s been forever since I’ve had a “show” with more than one piece and they all look so good next to one another! Here I am next to my piece at Due EAST- the kick off exhibit and party. The exhibit is at 1501 E 6th Street and is ongoing until the end of the tour from 12-6 pm. As far as I know my piece is still up for grabs! That being said- Studio YO- where the rest of my work will be hanging -is located at 2015 Lazy Brook 78723, open from 11-6pm. We are stops 9 & 10 on the tour and would love Love LOVE to see many bright and shiny faces stop by. You can meet the artists people! I’m hoping the visiting traffic up on the north end will be just as awesome as the more populated spots down south of us.
There is one wall of Cecily’s stuff as well as a hallway. Her photographs are so beautifully haunting! I’ve been grumbling at her to get some stuff posted onto a blog. She just growls back at me ;o). This pic doesn't do them justice. You must see them in person! Did you know Cecily and I used to twirl flags? NO- it’s not a euphemism for anything...it was a marching band kind of thing. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to bring us some flags to demonstrate? ha!
