It was so exciting to be able to see people’s reactions to my art and get some really ego boosting compliments. We had much more traffic than we expected in our little thrown together studio space and I am glad I finally got my stuff together and did this. Seeing everything on the walls ~together~ (not just stacked against the wall or on an easel) made it feel more like a whole. I think of each piece individually but when they are side by side - well, good golly i think i have a pretty cohesive collection!
So here are some more pics from the 2 weekends. I’m trying to get everything scanned in and posted in my gallery-if there is a piece you are interested in please email me! My Etsy shop is on a winter hiatus but I can still process an order if you see something you want
Cecily and I had a great time getting to know each other (again/more) and also realizing we have a lot to say about our work and why we do what we do. We were even interviewed by 3 high schoolers (Cecily did a video interview but I declined ‘cause I seriously fall apart with that much pressure) AND we were interviewed by Orange Magazine - a student-run online magazine for The University of Texas at Austin. Read the interview here. I have to say we were really riding high after it all ended and had an awesome experience being our first time ever participating in EAST.
I can’t wait to get back to painting- I have a giant blank canvas that is sitting in the garage, whispering to me that it needs color and inspiration. I also have many drawings that I plan on marking down after the new year to make room for new stuff. If you ever wanted an original piece of art by me-now is the time to get ya some!
And a big thanks to anyone (especially my beautiful friends and family) who has supported me by (pick one) sharing/buying/thumbs up/lovely comments. It means the world to me.
